Hi everyone!
Back home from a great vacation in South Carolina. Looks like that's where summer's been hiding. The weather was beautiful and warm and sunny for the whole time, except for our last day there.
My daughter brought a friend, so they had a blast - we were a five minute walk from the ocean (which was like a warm bath) so we spent a lot of time there and at the pool. Shopped, visited Savannah GA (one of my fave cities) and ate lots of good old southern BBQ (cornbread, pulled pork, ribs, seafood, the works YUM)
We couldn't go in the water the first day because of hurricane Bill - riptides and heavy surf. Unfortunately, we missed the 14 foot waves earlier in the day. That would've been something to see!
It rained the last day we were there, but we had packing and stuff to get ready for the trip home, so that was fine. The humidity that day was something I've never experienced before - and don't want to again any time soon! It was so humid that we had to put towels on the bathroom floor because it was so wet we kept slipping. Unbelievable!
Anyways, it was an awesome vacation- I've got a few pics up on FB. Imagine having to go south to find a bit of warm weather

Now I'm scrambling around trying to catch up on everything. School starts Sept.8 - my daughter will be starting grade 11 (!!!!) where does the time go?
This year and next are going to be a bit tougher for her work-wise. These are the years that the Universities look at grades.......so she's going to have to work hard, but she's looking forward to getting back.
My own obedience classes are starting to fill really fast and furious - looks like I'll be working Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and possibly on Saturday afternoons to accomodate everyone. I've been going crazy trying to get all that organized and I still have two weeks to go.

Justin! I can't believe that you are actually in Ontario! I can't wait to see a picture of you with the CN tower or some such landmark in the background to actually believe it Thanks for the update in your other post. Glad to hear you're settling in so well - you should try to get to the CNE (at Exhibition place)! That's always a great experience if you've never done it before. A real Toronto tradition. I think it's there until next week (or just after labour day?) I'd love to hear what you've been up to. When do classes start for you?


I'm hoping to see District 9 this weekend, but that's about the only thing I have planned for the long weekend.

Glad to hear that your vacation went well. I can't imagine that much humidity. I think it would drive me crazy! I was surprised by some of the weather we've had here since I arrived. Within just a couple days of getting here there was that tornado warning for the Toronto area...never had one of those back home.

I haven't been to the CNE, but I did go to Canada's Wonderland a couple times with my friend from out of town. That was pretty fun. I have a few pics that I eventually plan to put up, but I think that most of them are just of the rides. My girlfriend and I are maybe in one of them. Most of my exploring has been pretty boring. Just familiarizing myself with the closest shopping centers (got myself a Costco membership today for the first time in my life ). I'll be sure to keep you informed if I have any other adventures in the near future. Now that my September metro pass is finally active I'm trying to get used take full advantage of it. As for my classes, they start next week.

I'm also hoping to see District 9 in the near future. My girlfriend is broke (even more so than me), so I might end up going myself one of these days. I also want to go see Inglourious Basterds when I get the chance.
