Hi everybody!

Went to see Transformers last weekend - what a blast smile.gif I really liked it.

Got Rob Thomas' new CD this morning and I LIKE it! It's the perfect summer CD - fun and different, great to blast in the car and better than I thought it would be. They're going to be great songs to see live! biggrin.gif

Other than that, same stuff, different day. The weather's been crap - cool and rainy. Figures. We got the pool up and running so of course it's going to be miserable. dry.gif Maybe when we take it down in September it'll warm up again? unsure.gif tongue.gif

Have a happy Canada Day tomorrow! Hope things are great with everyone!

Hey Laura,

Happy Canada Day to you as well! Glad to hear that you liked the Transformers movie and the new CD.

I went and did something impulsive this week. I went out and picked up an Xbox 360. I had been planning to get one eventually once I moved and could no longer mooch off my roommate's video games, but I decided to get it a bit earlier than planned. I figure that I should still have enough for the move and hopefully enough to pick up the essentials once I get there. Depends on how many more hours I can pick up at work. I've just been bored lately and knew that the price wouldn't go down between now and then. Plus, I was able to get it with a couple games bundled with it.

Other than that, I've just been taking it easy the last couple days because I had a couple teeth removed on Monday. I swear, I've had so many teeth removed over the years...these better be the last ones! laugh.gif

That's about it though. I don't expect my Canada Day (or what's left of it) to be all that exciting.

Happy Belated Canada day! I went out to a Canada Day pub quiz night here in Edinburgh which was tons of fun, they had imported some Mooseheads and were making poutine etc haha. Good times! It's been stinking hot here the last few days, I hate it! Aguh. I thought i left hot humid summers behind in Canada haha. Hoping the cooler weather comes back soon! I'm prefectly happy with highs of 15 thanks!

I have the rest of the weekend off so I'm heading up to Oban and the Isle of Mull on the west coast of Scotland for some amping and exploring smile.gif Looking forward to that a lot, it's been far too long since I've gone camping

re: Rob Thomas' new album. We had it on at work a bit but it didn't really stand out for me. To be honest it kind of sounded just like everything else he's ever put out? Sorry Laura to disagree with your opinion haha. I'm hoping to see Public Enemies soon, it looks pretty good! I also want to see the Hangover at some point, looks hilarious!

Think that's about all I've got for news. Have a great weekend everyone smile.gif

Hi Justin and Allie! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Justin - an Xbox eh? We'll never see you here again laugh.gif Enjoy!

Allie - send the heat HERE!! PLEEASE!!! We can trade - I can't take much more of this crap.

And no worries about Rob smile.gif I still think he could do better in so many ways and there's a song or two on the CD that I really dislike even - which is saying a lot for me, but I was expecting a lot less going in from the beginning. Maybe that's why I'm pretty happy with it. I also think if it was a winter release, I'd be a lot more disappointed (does that make sense?) Something about a fun, light offering in the summer is just easier to swallow.
A lot of the songs are going to be a blast experienced live, too smile.gif

I saw Public Enemies yesterday. It was really good!! OH! and we rented ONE WEEK with Joshua Jackson a little while ago and it was AMAZING! All Canadian - fantastic Canadian soundtrack - I highly recommend it. Beautiful movie.

Have a great weekend smile.gif

Haha! Well, luckily it hasn't completely absorbed me yet. I'm actually much more of a casual gamer, so I think I should be fine.

So, I'm now hoping once again that I've settled on a spot in Toronto. After deciding against the first one, I'm waiting to hear back from a couple that are renting out the basement of their house. This one seems like its in a nicer residential neighbourhood, it's conveniently located (within walking distance to Downsview Station and along a bus route to campus), and it's slightly cheaper than the other place. Also, after living in an apartment complex for three years, I like the idea of living in a home (even if it's just the basement of one) rather than being one of hundreds in a large building. I'm just waiting for them to make their decision now on which applicant to accept. They made it seem like I was one of their top candidates, but that could always change.
