I'm so glad you're enjoying it! It IS great, isn't it?! And if I have one complaint it would be the same as yours - not nearly long enough!
It was so good to get the EP and hear the songs properly "fleshed out" (stole Laurie's term) in the car and on my iPod - it really was like hearing them for the first time. I can't review the EP, though. It's too hard for me to put into words - it gives me goosebumps. How's that for articulate?
I will list a few of my favourite "zinger" lyrics, though....lyrics that you hear and you get this little.... !!!!!!!!! ...... in your head/heart that's a bit like a shock when you hear them. (oy, I suck at this LOL)
Midnight Ride is the song that hooked me first the first time I heard it. I love the melody and I love this one line - it's so darn perfect: "I'll belong to anyone who’ll make me feel alive"
And this makes my heart ache "I'll belong with a hole in my heart
I can’t fill it up
With a light or a love
I can try
But it always is a lie"
The Missing is my current fave.....the piano right after "Save me with your fingers, God" to counterpoint that sentence is just so poignant......the viola at the end.....beautiful.
Raggedy Anne.....passivity....."My prickly heart fits his hand like a glove" How good is that? I could've put all the lyrics down for this one!
Butterflies is so
visual!!! "Don’t let your light go out" and "Punch a hole right through the sky
So I can climb right out tonight" Doesn't get any better than that!
It's been SO long since we had new music to talk about around here that I couldn't resist to put in my own two cents and invite anyone else who wants to share their thoughts/reviews. I, for one, would LOVE to hear them
and if you haven't bought "The Missing" yet, you won't be disappointed
Also, if ANYONE out there went to the show on Friday, have pity on us poor souls who couldn't make it and please visit and let us know how it was???
