Driving home from class tonight and got to thinking about the upcoming show (and HOPEFULLY lots more to come).....
So, what would be YOUR dream set list? 12 songs you'd die to hear AND WATCH Stabilo sing?

1. Starting Fires (biiiiig surprise there )
2. Penny Pass (never had the pleasure live - I adore the guitar in this song - hell, I adore this song. period.)
3. Laughing Nervously (never heard it live)
4. Kidding Ourselves (I just love to listen to Jesse sing this song)
5. ? ( I LOVE the live version at the end *sigh* )
6. Beautiful Madness (I've never heard it live!)
7. Don't Look In Their Eyes (they did this acoustic version in December - I'd LOVE to hear it again)
8. Gateway (never had the pleasure live)
9. Coffee Spills (again and again and again)
10. Donovan (never had the pleasure live)
11. Happiness and Disaster (again and again )
12. If It Was Up To Me (it's a beautiful acoustic song *sigh*)

1. middle of the night (favorite song of all time)
2. penny pass (just to hear nates drum solo again! ah! love it )
3. everybody (only cuz this song gets the crowd going everytime)
4. any other girl (second favorite song)
5. laughing nervously (i used a quote from this song in my grad speetch.. hearing it live would be such a moment )
6. donovan. (its an epic.. i love this song.. its like a work of art)
7. stone (never heard this live)
8. one more pill (the original.. its been so long. and i love the original)
9. thing (i love the intro they have for this song live.. its fantastic)
10. tumble (never heard this live)
11. happiness and disaster (its just such a together piece)
12. don't believe in love. (just because i love the song )

Any Other Girl - one of my fave songs musically. Staggering. I'd LOVE to see them play it live too.

as for burlington.. i dont have a car, so i doubt it... unless i can convince my boyfriend to come, and work to give me a day off!

Okay I think thats my list for live songs, there are just so many good ones to hear live so I mainly picked the ones that I didn't hear last time or were just soo good I have to hear them again!

This was soooo hard. Narrowing 30 songs, all of them good, many of them outstanding, down to 12. You guys have the advantage of having seen them live. All I've got to go by is the recordings.

That said, my list would be:

Don't Look In Their Eyes -- a feel-good, high-energy song to kick off
Habit -- for the bass, in particular
Don't Be So Cold -- that intro! . . . this song always gets under my skin
Fantasy -- that piano intro *swoon*
Paperboy -- another fabulous intro
Gateway -- I'm getting repetitive here, but . . . that intro!
Donovan -- what Stef said!
Coffee Spills -- for the piano, and the emotion
Any Other Girl -- hopefully with lots of extended jazzy instrumentals
Happiness & Disaster -- it says something that this song is on everyone's list
If It Was Up To Me -- just feels like a good song to wind down to
Encore:
Flawed Design -- hopefully rocked to the hilt

Not necessarily even my 12 favourite songs. Just trying to keep a balance between the up-tempo songs and the quieter ones, between the Jesse songs and the Chris songs. But it feels so . . . compromised. It really hurt to leave off Beautiful Madness (for the piano instrumental at the end) and Thing (for that Spanish guitar opening, and the bass line), for instance.

Perhaps it would be easier to do which 12 songs you'd want for an acoustic set, and which 12 for a high-energy rock concert. Then you could have your cake and eat it too.

Carol, if I had to choose between Gateway and Happiness & Disaster, I'd probably spontaneously combust.
